inadequacies

it sucks to have to go through so much shit before anyone can be considered worthy of whatever it is they deserve

you may be done with all that and with no one but yourself as your own savior, but by then you would have become too damaged to take love in without seeing how fragile it really is

and you can tell love to wait, or try and convince it that you're not always this inadequate, or even beg it to give it a few months... but the truth is you're not really sure how long it'll take for you to feel whole enough to allow the swell of emotions to fill you up again without doubts or worry, like you used to

then love leaves. and you're left to fend for your own, which you've always been good at. but it sucks 'cause you were hoping to get some help this time. but maybe the damage was far worse than you had imagined or even cared to admit
